Description
Brookside Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a thatched roof with brick stacks at either end. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, with a two-window range. On the left side, there is an old plank door set in a moulded wood surround, complete with a timber lintel and a straight hood above. The ground floor has two-light casement windows with wooden lintels and H and HL hinges, while the first floor features two-light casements in eyebrow dormers. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam and an open fireplace that includes a cambered chamfered bressumer.
