Description

Ye Old Malting House is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and has a plain-tile roof with brick end stacks, the right stack resting on a stone base. The house has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high with an attic, featuring a three-window range. The central entrance has a 20th-century glazed door with a timber lintel, set within a 20th-century stone porch. This entrance is flanked by three-light casement windows, also with timber lintels. On the first floor, there are two-light 20th-century casements, all retaining timber lintels. To the left, there is a single-storey extension that includes garage and back doors. Inside, the house features chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
