Description

Overbeck House is a house from the 18th century that has been extended in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and coursed limestone rubble, topped with a plain-tile roof and featuring brick stacks at the ends and ridge. The house has a three-unit plan with an additional one-unit section.

The entrance, located to the right of the center, has a part-glazed door with a flat-arched head and a straight hood supported by brackets. This is flanked by three-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, all featuring stop-chamfered wood lintels. Above the door, there is a stone sundial. To the left of the entrance, there is a straight joint and a one-light casement window on the ground floor, along with additional three-light casement windows further left, all with wood lintels. The left end bay is made of red brick as part of the 20th-century addition. The right side has a stone-coped gable with kneelers.

Inside, the house features chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a cambered ogee-stop-chamfered bressumer, as well as another fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. The floor is stone-flagged, and there is a fitted cupboard with pilasters, a flattened arched head, and shaped shelves. An 18th-century eared wood fireplace surround can be found in an upstairs room, along with an old stud partition.
