Description

Holdenby Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a thatched roof with brick stacks at each end. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, with a two-window range. The central entrance is a 20th-century stable door with a wooden lintel. There are two-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, also with wooden lintels. The first-floor windows are set in eyebrow dormers, and the leftmost first-floor window has leaded panes. Inside, there are stop-chamfered spine beams and a collar-truss roof.
