Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the mid to late 17th century, with rebuilding that occurred in the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a slate roof, with brick stacks at the ends and along the ridge. The building has a three-unit plan and is two stories tall, with a four-window range.
To the right of the center, there is a six-panel door with an overlight, framed by a pilastered wood surround and topped with a straight hood supported by brackets. A six-panel back door is located at the far right, featuring a stop-chamfered wood lintel within a 20th-century porch. The windows on both the ground and first floors are three-light casements, each with stop-chamfered wood lintels. The farmhouse has a plinth, ironstone quoins, and a band of ironstone above the ground floor window lintels. The gables are stone-coped and include kneelers.
A single-storey extension projects forward from the far right. Inside, the original kitchen likely retains two ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams from the 17th century, along with other stop-chamfered spine beams.
