Description
Lower Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone featuring four bands of ironstone, topped with a thatch roof and brick end stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panel, part-glazed door that has a moulded wood surround and a wood lintel, set within a 20th-century gabled wood porch. This door is flanked by one-light casement windows, also with wood lintels. The remaining windows are two-light casements on both the ground and first floors, with a two-light dormer window located at the far left. The gables are capped with ironstone and feature kneelers. There are single-storey extensions at both the left and right ends of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
