Description

Upper Littlecote Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed from roughcast rubble stone with ashlar dressings and stone slate roofs, although some roofs have been replaced with imitation stone slates. The building is two storeys high with an attic and was originally designed in an L-shape, featuring a long cross wing added to the east end. The main range includes two hipped dormers and a three-window arrangement of flush stone mullion windows, with three lights on each side and a two-light window above the door, all set in a flush chamfered surround. There is a string course running along the building. A 19th-century ashlar gabled porch features a Tudor-arched entry, complete with a hoodmould that has head stops and a carved finial. The cross wing has a dormer on the west side, a 20th-century window on the first floor, and a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor. The south end has a coped gable and a stack, while the north gable is half hipped. The main range also has a rear wing, which appears to have been added in the 18th century, made from ironstone rubble with casement windows on the north end gable.
