Description

The barn at Preston East Farm is a 17th-century structure. It features a timber frame supported by high stone sills and a stone gable, with weatherboarding and a hipped corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of five bays and has a short hipped midstrey on the northeast side, with doors located opposite. The end bay contains a stable with a framed wall division on a stone sill, which was originally closed. The barn includes tension braces and the walls are two panels high. The roof is constructed with queen strut collar trusses, butt purlins, and long curved windbraces.
