Description

The small barn located to the south of Great Prestons Farmhouse dates from the 16th century. It is constructed with timber framing and is weatherboarded, topped with a clay pantile roof that has a steep pitch. The barn consists of three bays and features high-quality timber framing, including arch-braced tie beams and external wall bracing. Inside, there is a simple crown post roof, with the crown posts supported by longitudinal braces to the collar purlin and a single down brace to the beams.
