Description

This large barn, located to the south of the farmhouse at Great Preston Farm, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, sitting above a high base made of English bond brickwork. The barn has a steeply pitched roof covered with peg tiles and consists of five bays. Inside, there are arched braced tie beams and a roof structure supported by joggled side purlins with 'V' struts. Additionally, there is a midstrey on the north side at the center, with later lean-tos added on either side.
