Description

This large barn, located at High Garret House, dates from the early 18th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn is nine bays long and features two gabled midstreys on the eastern side. The original frame is intact, showcasing hanging knees and a lodged side purlin roof supported by queen struts, without a ridge board. The top plate has halved and bladed scarf joints. There are also 19th-century lean-to extensions added to the structure.
