Description

This barn, located 50 meters to the northwest of Church Farmhouse, dates back to the 16th century. It is timber framed, weatherboarded, and features a tiled roof. The structure consists of five bays with a central midstrey that has a gabled roof and pigeon holes, along with opposed wagon doors. Aisles have been added to both sides of the barn. The roof is supported by queen posts and clasped purlins, featuring curved wind-braces. There are arch braces connecting the plates and ties, and the timbers are fairly stout and mostly original. The jowled posts have been cut back, and there are 'rafter holes' at the feet of the rafters.
