Description

This barn, located to the north-west of Church Farmhouse, dates back to the 16th century. It is constructed from timber framing and is weatherboarded, topped with a clay pantiled roof. At the south-west end, there is a lean-to that matches the main structure's materials. The barn's frame consists of three bays, featuring good original studding and a middle rail, although some sections of the side walls have been replaced in the 20th century. The trusses include long arched braces, and remnants of a queen-post roof can still be seen. The original rafters are intact, but the arcade plates have been replaced with later clasped side purlins. This barn is included for its group value.
