Description
Church Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the late 18th century, with a front that was reworked from a 16th-century timber-framed house. It features chequer brick and an old tile roof, with flanking chimneys. The building is two storeys high. The northeast front has three widely spaced bays, with vertical sliding sash windows set in reveals that include glazing bars. There is a central four-panelled door with a small rectangular fanlight above it, all framed by a delicate wood lattice porch topped with a concave lead roof. A brick on the right-hand corner bears the inscription "E.C. July 1848," positioned just above ground level. The southwest front was refaced in the 18th century, maintaining its timber frame and hipped old tile roof, with a small area of 16th-century brickwork still visible on the right-hand side just above ground level. Inside, many original timbers can be seen.
