Description

Willow Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century. It is located on the east side of Wokingham Road, at its junction with Islandstone Lane, in St Nicholas Hurst. The original structure is timber-framed with colourwashed brick infilling and has an old tile roof with gable ends. A catslide roof is present on the north side, along with an outshut. A two-storey extension with a 20th-century entrance door was added in the 20th century. A large brick chimney, originally from the 17th century, has a rebuilt stack on the ridge towards the south end. The cottage is two storeys high and has timber casement windows, most dating from the early 19th century and the 20th century, with one metal casement above the entrance door. Some original timbers are visible in the interior.
