5/158 Tithe Barn (to west of and adjoining Church Farmhouse)

Tithe barn, C16. Aisled. Timber-framed, part plastered and weatherboarded with original brick foundations. Roof, half-hipped with gablet to west, slate to north elevation and asbestos sheeting to south. Cross-entry with large double doors facing south divided for lower doors; original thrashing floor. Four 'bays', each truss has arched braces from jowelled posts to tie beams and arcade plates, and braces to the aisle tie beams. Arcade plates have face halved scarf-joints; the aisle plates are in reversed assembly with aisle tie beams and posts - an unusual feature. Side purlin roof with original rafters.
