Description

This is a barn dating from the 16th century. It is timber-framed and clad in weatherboarding, with a roof covered in old plain tiles and corrugated iron. The barn has five bays, with an aisle at the rear and an open centre bay. A stable was later constructed in front of the left bay. The roof is half-hipped. Inside, the barn features a queen post roof on cambered ties, with curved braces and twisted large purlins. Straight braces connect the wall plate to the aisle posts, and there are windbraces; the aisle posts sit on baseplates.
