Description
Knockwood Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 17th century, with later encasement in the late 18th century and an extension in the early 19th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill at the ends and brick encasing on the sides, topped with an old plain tile roof. The building has four bays, with the eaves raised, and an additional bay added to the right side, along with a lean-to dairy on the left end and wings at the rear. The front of the farmhouse is two stories high and consists of five bays, with the dairy located at the left end. A 19th-century gabled brick porch with a segmental opening is positioned to the right in the center bay. In the other inner bays, there are 19th-century three-light casements with segmental heads, and similar two-light casements in the outer bays. On the first floor, there are five two-light casements. The roof is half-hipped, with stacks situated between the left and right bays. There are also derelict 18th-century farm buildings on the property.
