Description
Brookside Cottage is a 17th century cottage with later extensions. It features a timber frame and white colourwashed rubble stonework, topped with a thatched roof that includes dormers. The cottage has rendered stacks and a narrow span timber framed core structure that faces the road. To the right, there is a stone rebuild of a long bay with an external stack, along with an extension towards the road. Additionally, there is a cross wing of two bays at the right end, which includes a 19th century barn from Breach Farm in Compton Bassett. The chamber adjacent to the road has been extended by two bays, with a third bay added later. The elevation includes timber casement windows and timber lintels. Internally, the fireplaces have been altered.
