Description

BURBAGE EAST SANDS SU 26 SW (south side) 2/9 Cherry Orchard Cottage II

Cottage. C17. Timber framed on brick and flint sills, now mostly replaced with colourwashed brick. Thatched roof. Single storey and attic, hall and inner room, extended in C19 by a third bay beyond original gable stack. Entrance on north side of central bay. Canted glazed porch under extension of roof. Two and 3-light casement windows and one flush dormer. Framing visible in outbuilding on left gable, 3 panels high with straight corner braces. Two storey rear extension on right, of 1987. Interior. Spine beam to living room with ogee chamfered stops. Ovolo moulded fire beam, but fireplace blocked.
