Description
Old Manor Cottage is a 17th-century and early 19th-century cottage located on School Lane in Little Bedwyn. It is timber-framed with flint sills, and the exterior is finished with flint and brick, topped by a thatched roof. The original part of the cottage is single-storey with an attic, and consists of three bays with a gable facing the road, although it has been extended to the left by a further bay. The entrance leads directly into a central hall, with reception rooms to either side. The timber framing is visible on the gable, arranged in two panels high, with corner braces visible on the high sill. The façade of the original three-bay section is faced in diaper brickwork. The cottage has a four-panelled front door, and three-light casement windows with segmental heads on the ground floor, with further two- and three-light headed windows in the attic. To the left, a flint and brick extension mirrors the appearance of the original section, along with the rear outshut. The outshut is interrupted by an upper floor over the central bay. A further bay has been added to the rear of the left-hand extension. Gable stacks are present on the original three-bay section.
