Description
No. 5 Church Street is a pair of estate cottages built in 1860. They are constructed of red brick with blue brick patterning and feature a tiled roof. The cottages are two-storeys high and have a bilaterally symmetrical design, with the facade extended as buttresses. There is a boarded door set in a pointed brick arch, and one door has been replaced with a glazed window. The cottages have three-light timber mullioned and transomed windows, with the frames stop-chamfered and shallow brick arches above, adorned with tile-hung tympana. The first floor features gabled half dormers. A central stack has a tumbled brick offset and a central rib, with a roundel displaying the date at the base of the stack.
