Description
No. 47 Derby Road is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings and features a slate roof with brick gable stacks and a dentilled eaves band. It stands two storeys high and has two bays.
There are two central doorcases with segment-headed arches; the southern doorcase contains a raised panelled door, while the northern doorcase has a flush door. On either side of the doors, there are glazing bar sash windows set below wedge lintels with raised keystones. Each upper sash features an unusual central two-pane casement. To the north, there is a segment-headed arch leading into an alley through the building. Above the other windows, there are two shallower glazing bar sashes that do not have lintels. This building is included for its group value only.
