Description

Exchange House is a late 18th-century house located on Potter Street in the parish of Melbourne. The front facade is constructed of coursed squared stone, with rubble stone forming the rest of the building. It features stone dressings, a plinth, and a steeply pitched plain tile roof with brick gable stacks. The roofline has stone coping, plain kneelers, and a moulded eaves cornice. The house is two storeys high plus garrets, with three bays. A central doorcase contains a panelled door and divided overlight, set beneath a raised rusticated wedge lintel with a raised keyblock. Contemporary 3-light timber cross casement windows are positioned on either side of the doorcase, each with a similar rusticated lintel. Above, there are two similar windows and a central 2-light window.
