Description
21 Market Place is a house dating from the early 19th century, which features a refronting of an 18th-century house and has undergone alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick with painted stone and concrete dressings, topped with a plain tile roof that has a brick gable stack to the east and a stepped eaves band. The building stands three storeys high and has two bays. The ground floor has been rebuilt in the 20th century, featuring a panelled door with a plain overlight beneath a concrete rusticated wedge lintel that has a raised keystone to the west. To the east, there is a glazing bar sash window below a similar concrete lintel. On the upper floors, there are two similar sash windows with matching stone lintels, and above these, there are two smaller windows of the same style. The building is included for its group value only.
