Description
This early 19th-century house and shop likely incorporates an earlier structure. It is constructed of rendered brick upon a stone plinth, with painted stone dressings and flush quoins. The roof is tiled, featuring a central brick ridge stack and a sawtooth eaves band. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, arranged in a double range plan.
The east side features an attractive late 19th-century shop front with a recessed, glazed panelled door at its centre, which is set beneath a plain overlight. This is flanked by canted single-pane shop windows. A moulded and dentilled cornice sits above, finished with iron cresting. To the west of the shop front, a single glazing bar sash window is set beneath a wedge lintel, the lower edge of which is slightly arched on either side of the keystone. Further west is a plain doorcase, sheltering a panelled door and a traceried overlight, all topped by a similar lintel. Above, three glazing bar sash windows are positioned beneath matching wedge lintels.
