Description
No. 35 Derby Road is a house dating from around 1810, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features painted stone dressings, topped with a plain tile roof that has brick gable stacks and a distinctive sawtooth eaves band. The building stands three storeys high and has three bays.
The central entrance is framed by a doorcase that includes a raised and fielded panelled door. At the base of the door on the southern side, there is a moulded ogee-headed stone boot-scraper. To the south of the entrance, there is a glazing bar sash window, while to the north, there is a wide tripartite plain sash window, which is set in later brickwork, likely replacing a former shop front.
On the upper floors, there are three glazing bar sash windows, and above those, there are three smaller sash windows. All window and door openings are topped with painted, panelled stone wedge lintels that feature keystones.
