Description
Number 33 and the attached building to the south are a pair of houses that have been converted into a shop, offices, and a restaurant. They were built in 1810 and have undergone later alterations. The buildings are constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings and feature plain tile roofs. There is a brick gable stack at the north end and a brick ridge stack at the center, along with dentilled eaves bands. Both buildings are three storeys tall, with Number 33 having two bays and the attached building having a single bay with an angled side elevation.
Number 33 has a central doorcase with a panelled door. To the north, there is a 20th-century casement window, and to the south, there is a pilastered late 19th-century shop window with a moulded cornice and a slim central colonnette. Above the doorcase, there is a brick inscription reading 'WW 1810', and above that, there are two 20th-century casements on either side. The upper floors feature two shallow glazing bar sashes. All openings are topped with panelled wedge lintels that include keystones.
The attached building to the south has a large three-paned 19th-century shop window with a moulded cornice on the ground floor, and a 20th-century glazing bar casement below a panelled wedge lintel with a keystone above. There is a similar but smaller window above. The angled gable wall features a panelled door with a similar lintel to the east, and another door with flanking 20th-century glazing bar casements below similar lintels to the west. There is also a similar window above and a small circular window to the east.
