Description
No. 5 Beckside is a pair of cottages that have been converted into a single cottage. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone minor alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a pantile roof with two brick gable stacks.
The front of the cottage is two storeys high and has three bays, with a brick eaves course. In the centre, there is a pair of glazed doors beneath a single timber lintel, flanked by single glazing bar sliding sash windows, which also have timber lintels. On the first floor, there are two smaller similar windows located near the eaves. To the left, there is an early 19th-century lean-to that includes an additional sliding sash window.
