Description

The White Hart Inn is a former courthouse that has been converted into a public house, dating from around 1730, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring painted ashlar dressings and a pantile roof with two brick gable stacks. The building is two stories tall and has a three-bay front, characterized by rusticated quoins and coved eaves.

The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set within a moulded stone surround, which includes a pulvinated frieze, a stepped keystone, and a triangular pediment. This door is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. On the first floor, there is a central Venetian window, although the traceried side lights are now blocked. The window sill is supported by four brackets, with the side lights separated by Doric pilasters that hold up pulvinated and dentillated friezes. The fixed centre light features a moulded semi-circular head with a stepped keystone and is also flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. All the windows are adorned with moulded stone architraves and stepped keystones.

To the right of the main structure, there is a single-storey range with a more modern front added in the 20th century, and to the left, there is another single-storey range from the same period.
