Description

No. 21 Swaythling Road is a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The exterior features plaster painted render, with some parts reported as timber framed and others in red brick. The building has an old tile roof and stands two storeys high, with two windows on each floor. The ground floor has two 6-pane, 2-light windows and the first floor has two 4-pane casements, all of which are set beneath drip mould heads. A central gable porch is present, and the hipped roof has a tall central ridge stack. At the rear, there is an outshut roof and a 20th-century single-storey addition on the left, built with matching materials.
