Description
Two cottages, likely originally a single house, were probably built in the early 18th century. They are timber-framed with wattle and daub infill, some of which has been replaced with brick. The cottages have thatched roofs. The main structure is single-storied with an attic, featuring a 1:1/2:1 bay arrangement, extended by a further half bay at each end in the 20th century. The timber framing is slender, with three panels in height, incorporating straight corner braces. Doors are located at the outer ends of the original structure. The windows are three-light, paned, and there are two-light, paned, flush dormers – one to each bay of the original structure and one to each of the outer extensions. A central brick stack with two flues is present. The roof of the cottage at No. 24 is slightly higher than the roof of No. 22. A rear service extension with an asbestos roof has been added to No. 24, along with a 20th-century flat-roofed extension to the rear of No. 22.
