Description
Little Estcotts is a house built in 1675, with mid 18th century alterations and a 20th century extension. It is constructed of brick and features a thatched roof, with a roughcast extension added in 1966. The house is two storeys high and originally consisted of a three-bay block aligned east-west. A rear wing was added around the mid 18th century, which served as a bakery and shop in the 19th century. There is a short rear extension on the east end from around 1966, and further extensions to the east from around 1980, beyond an added brick bay likely from the early 19th century. The entrance is now located on the south side, where the earlier central door to the three bays has been replaced by a window. The door to the shop in the rear wing has also been similarly replaced, featuring a glazed door. The house has timber casement windows, some of which include glazing bars. There is a stack at the rear of the 18th century wing and another at the east gable of the original block. The rear stack has a datestone that reads 1675, which may have been reset.
