Description
Four Winds is a 17th-century cottage located on the south side of the A342 in Easterton. It features a timber frame with colourwashed brick noggings set on brick and stone sills, topped by a slated roof. The gable end is pebbledashed. The cottage is single storey with an attic, consisting of two bays and a framed lean-to at the east end, which extends beyond a gable stack. The main living room is heated, and there is an inner room with a later stack, along with a kitchen located in the lean-to. The framing consists of two panels high with long corner braces. The entrance has been relocated to a 20th-century extension at the rear. The cottage has timber casement windows and one flush dormer on the front. A stone-built gable stack features a brick flue. Inside, there is an open fireplace, and the spine beams are all boxed in.
