Description
Forge Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on the east side of High Street in Easterton. The building features a timber frame, with some sections replaced by brick and is colourwashed. The original thatched roof has been replaced with pantiles. The cottage has a lobby entry plan, which includes a 20th-century four-panelled door and 19th-century timber casement windows. The framing displays a heavy bressumer and two panels above, with one stud featuring an incised inscription that reads "1619 SEPTE W." At the rear, there are two late 17th-century leaded windows.
Inside, there is a fireplace in the central stack that serves the left living/kitchen area. The left room has an unshaped binder, while the right side features a rough spine beam. Additionally, a later stack has been added to the rear wall.
