Description
High View is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed malmstone and brick, topped with a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and features 2 ½ bays. The entrance is located in the central bay, which was likely originally a narrow hall but is now combined with the living room to the right. The left bay is unheated and serves as a kitchen. The entrance has a half-glazed door with lower fielded panels and a heavy chamfered frame, sheltered by a 20th-century rustic thatched porch. The cottage has paned timber windows. The roof is hipped to the left and includes a gable stack made of brick, which has been inserted into the stone wall, likely replacing an original stone stack. At the rear, there is a single-storey outbuilding with a pantiled roof and a lean-to timber garage on the right. Inside, the living room features two axial chamfered beams.
