Description
Forge Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located in Ham Ham village. It is constructed of timber with brick and wattle and daub infill, and features an extension that is framed with weatherboarding. The cottage has a thatched roof and is single-storey with an attic, consisting of two bays. It has been extended to the right beyond the gable stack by one framed bay, and there is a two-bay barn attached to the left, which is now included within the dwelling. The frame consists of three panels high with corner braces. The entrance is located at the rear of the left bay. The cottage has two and three-light timber casements, along with one earlier leaded window facing the road. The thatched roof is hipped and includes two dormers on the road side and one in the gable. There are various good 20th-century extensions to the rear that form a courtyard.
