Description

Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th to 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring brick and wattle and daub infill. The building is single-storey with an attic and consists of two bays, with the gable facing the road and a framed lean-to at the rear. The entrance is located in the first bay on the right, featuring a 20th-century door and a thatched porch. There are various 20th-century timber paned windows. The frame has two panels high on the ground floor and one panel in the attic, with corner braces, and the floor jetties over the gable. Inside, there is a queen strut truss. The thatch is swept over one dormer on each side and is half-hipped at the front gable.
