Description

Jacksom's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features stone slate roofs, coped gables, and end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with two hipped eaves dormers that have leaded lights.

The facade has a four-window range. On the left side, there are two first-floor 2-light cyma-moulded recessed mullion windows with hoodmoulds. To the right, there is a pair of 18th-century small 6-pane sashes set in a moulded recessed surround with a dripstone above. The ground floor on the left has a similar 2-light mullion window without a hoodmould, and a door in a flush moulded surround, which is set within a 19th-century ashlar gabled Tudor-style porch. To the right, there are two similar 2-light windows with hoodmoulds.

At the south end, there is a lower stone-tiled addition, and beyond that, a 20th-century roughcast two-storey addition. The north end gable features two small oval attic openings and a pair of small-paned windows on the ground floor, which are set in a flush moulded surround with a cornice.

There is a rear wing added in the 18th century that is hipped to the west, featuring one 12-pane sash window on the north side in a raised beaded surround. The roughcast west end has a pair of similar sashes on each floor, and the south side has a 12-pane sash in a raised moulded surround on each floor, with the lower sash having a cornice above.

The rear of the main range includes a gabled eaves dormer, two 12-pane sashes on the first floor in raised moulded surrounds, and a ground floor 2-light mullion window with a hood and a 20th-century door beneath the hood of a former mullion window. The south end addition has a west front eaves hipped dormer and triple 6-pane windows under a moulded cornice.
