Description

Owl Cottage, comprising Nos 1 and 2, is a pair of cottages with an 18th-century structure built upon a 17th-century core. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone with some timber-frame elements and have thatched roofs. They are one and a half storeys high. The left cottage has a west-end stack and two upper-floor windows with two unglazed lights each. Two similar ground-floor windows have been removed and replaced with 20th-century glazing. A 20th-century lean-to porch is located centrally. The right cottage is slightly lower and features two upper-floor windows similar to those on the left cottage, a ground-floor door within a 20th-century lean-to porch, and a 20th-century window. Some timber-framing is visible to the rear of this section. Deeds date back to 1791. This building is of group value.
