Description

These are three cottages, dating from the 17th to 18th centuries, constructed of rubble stone with thatched and tiled roofs. The earliest range, number 1, is painted and thatched, with an east-facing stack. The north gable of this range features a 3-light cyma-moulded flush mullion window above a plank door, both under a hoodmould. A Bridgwater-tiled rear wing, now known as Plangeross, extends north from the north gable and has a coped north gable and an end stack. A dormer gable on the west side has a 3-light recessed cyma-moulded mullion window and hoodmould. Ground-floor windows have 20th-century glazing. A former door is visible on the north end wall, with a raised moulded surround and hood on brackets, as is a two-light mullion window with a dripstone. The east side is mainly from the 20th century. The south side of the thatched range has a 3-light cyma-moulded flush mullion window on each floor. Number 2 has been added and features a Bridgwater-tile roof, a north-facing door, a 2-light flush cyma-moulded mullion window and hoodmould on the south side, as well as a casement pair and a door. 20th-century dormers have been added. An extension to the west, forming number 3 The Barton, is not considered to have architectural significance.
