Description
Stoneyhill Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed from limestone rubble with dressed openings. The main range has a plain tile roof, while a wing features a stone slate roof and red brick chimneys. The building is two stories high with an attic, comprising one room on either side of a central staircase hall. At the south end, single-storey wings have been added to both the front and back, each with an attic.
The front of the house has three windows, featuring two-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows on either side of an ogee moulded front doorway. This doorway is topped with a continuous hood mould that rises over a deep stone lintel. The upper floor includes two three-light windows and a central two-light window. There are also two double casement hipped roof attic dormers, both dating from the 20th century, and a parapet gable at the south end.
The projecting wing has 19th-century double casements with timber lintels. The back of the farmhouse is relatively plain, except for a two-light stair window, while the projecting wing has had an additional storey added in the 19th century.
