Description

The gate piers to The Lawns, which have been demolished, were built in the early 19th century and constructed from ashlar limestone. They featured two pairs of rusticated piers topped with a simple entablature and cushion terminals. The piers included openings for pedestrian gates and were positioned to separate a wide carriageway. The former lodges associated with the gate piers have been removed.
