Description
Square House is a mid-18th century building that is now used as a store. It features Flemish brickwork and a stone slate roof with three hipped dormers and gable stacks. The structure is two stories tall with an attic and has three wide bays, with the central bay projecting forward and containing the entrance. The entrance has a 20th-century planked door set within a moulded architrave, pulvinated frieze, and cornice. On either side of the entrance are six-pane windows with gauged brick lintels. The central bay has a stone plat band, while the other bays have 12-pane sash windows with gauged brick arches and stone sills. The eaves are adorned with stone dentils, and the dormers have timber casements. The interior was not seen, but it underwent major renovation in 1984.
