Description
The Old Bakery is a cottage and former bakery located on Duck Street in Cerne Abbas. It dates from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and 20th-century brickwork added at the rear. The building features brick walls that are roughcast, and it has a slate roof with gable ends. There is a brick stack on the left-hand gable. The structure is two storeys high and has two windows that are 2-light 19th-century wooden casements with wooden cills. On the right side of the ground floor, there is a segmental bow window with glazing bars and a wooden cornice, consisting of 24 panes. The front door, located just to the right of centre, has flush and recessed panels along with one top light. The rear of the premises extends further back and is constructed with flint rubble walls and slate roofs, featuring a plank stable door towards the east end.
