Description
Cerne Abbas Stores is an attached shop premises located on Long Street in Cerne Abbas. The building features a 19th-century refronting, although it likely has an earlier core. The walls are rendered and painted, and it has slate roofs with a brick stack on the left-hand party wall. The structure is two storeys high and includes dormers.
The shop front consists of two large fixed windows with glazing bars, each having 32 panes arranged in an 8 by 4 configuration, along with three panes angled towards the shop door. Recessed wooden pilasters support a moulded wooden cornice above. The central entrance features a two-leaf glazed door from the 19th century. On the first floor, there are three sashes with glazing bars, each having 12 panes and stone cills, arranged in an irregular pattern. The building also includes two dormers with 2-light casements that have glazing bars and hipped slate roofs.
