Description
Leda Cottage and Sound O' Water are two semi-detached houses that were built as one in the mid-19th century. Sound O' Water is now a guest house. The houses feature stone walls that are rendered and painted white, with corner pilasters. They have slate roofs with gable ends and boxed eaves, with the left-hand addition being lower. There are brick stacks located at the left-hand gable, the ridge centre, and the right-hand gable. The buildings are two storeys high and have a total of five windows. The left-hand side has one bay, while the right side features two wooden casement windows with glazing bars and wood cills. There is a canted bay window with glazing bars at the ground level of Sound O' Water (no. 16), which is a 20th-century addition. The front doors include a flush-panelled door at the centre of no. 16, with two top lights and a semi-circular fanlight with glazing bars from the 19th century. No. 14 has a recess-panelled door with two lights, a 20th-century feature, and a 19th-century fanlight with glazing bars above.
