Description

Brook Cottage is a detached house located on the north side of Long Street in Cerne Abbas. It dates from the early 19th century and features rendered walls painted white, topped with a flat parapet. The slate roof has stone gable-coping and there are rendered stacks at each gable end. The west elevation has two storeys with three sash windows that include glazing bars and stone cills. The front door is centrally located, recessed and panelled, with two top lights, dating from the 19th century. There is a rear wing that is at right angles to the main structure, also rendered, and covered with asbestos slate roofs. A plank door is found on the south wall of this wing.
