Description
Halstock House is a detached house built in the late 18th century. It features stone walls that are rendered, with plain stone corner pilasters and a moulded cornice. The roof is slate and half-hipped, with stone gable copings that flatten into stacks. The house has two storeys and three windows, which are sashes with thin glazing bars that were renewed in the 20th century.
The front door is centrally located and has a round-headed stone architrave, with a moulded rounded stone canopy supported by stone brackets. The door itself is flush-panelled and includes four glazed lights in the upper half, along with a fanlight that has an ornamental pattern of radiating glazing bars featuring leaf motifs.
At the rear, there is a wing with rendered walls and a slate roof, which has a gable and a brick stack. This section also has two storeys and two windows with stone architraves and sashes with glazing bars. A flush-panel back door is located in the angle of the rear wing and dates from the 19th century.
