Description
Scotdens House is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It features a rendered exterior with some slate hanging and a slate roof. The building has a plain rectangular shape topped with a steep hipped roof, and there is a one-storey lean-to on the left side. At the back, there are two brick eaves stacks and a small additional third stack.
The house is two storeys high and has three windows. In the lean-to, there is a 2-light unglazed opening with stanchion bars. In the main block, each level has a 2-light glazing bar casement window, and to the right, there is a four-panel door beneath a plain transom light. The right half of the house features a 16-pane sash window at ground level and two 16-pane sash windows above. At the right corner, there is a 4-pane sash window that returns to another 4-pane sash window with a post at the corner, which may have originally been a display window that has since been modified. Centrally located between the two lower windows is a 6-pane door leading to a shallow transom light. At the back, there is a small sash window positioned high on the left and a 2-light glazing-bar casement window.
